Mindful of the current outbreak and spread of the novel coronavirus, and as part of my duty to protect my clients and families, as well as myself and my own family, I will be closing my Child Matters office, starting Friday, March 13, through at least the second week of April.
I believe that children and families are at the heart of a whole and productive society. When a child or family system has become disrupted, it seems that nothing will be right until the child or family regain equilibrium.
We live in exciting yet complicated times. Children, adolescents, and parents can experience setbacks ranging from mild to severe, the result of stressors that exceed their ability to understand or manage.
Anxiety, depression, attachment issues and social/emotional/academic challenges can manifest when coping mechanisms are stretched or depleted. Divorce, illness in the family, or the loss of a loved one may lead to prolonged grieving, a sense of hopelessness, and personal dysfunction.
If you would like to make an appointment or have questions you may reach me by confidential voicemail or e-mail.
